Adolescent Specialized Residential Treatment Programs

Residential Treatment

Quapaw House, Inc. Adolescent Treatment integrates a traditional 12-step model of treatment , evidence based treatment programs and an outdoor program to provide adolescents a holistic approach toward recovery.
We incorporate comprehensive assessments, individual, group, and family counseling sessions which are structured from evidence based programs. New evidence based programs that have been added are SAMSHA’s series of Anger Management, the Change Company’s Interactive Journals and the Matrix Model for Adolescents.

Educational Program

Quapaw House, Inc. education program is accredited by the Arkansas Department of Education and is located on-site. A Master's Level Special Education Teacher conducts individualized instruction in a self-contained classroom. The PACE program is used and assists our students in remedial instruction and assesses their educational needs. The school also provides GED and ACT preparation for those seeking higher education (minimum age 17).

Recreational Therapy

The Recrational Education Program follows the model of Adventure-Based Counseling designed for a setting where group process and debriefing are essential. The program offers our clients opportunities to improve their communication skills, decision-making skills, problem-solving skills, team building, trust building, and self-esteem building skills. Therapy is accomplished through hiking, camping, College tours, prison visits; and outdoor adventure across the state of Arkansas.

Immersed in the very essence of adventure, a client will experience a sequence of activities and will enhance learning through, reflection, and debriefing. The client will develop insight into self through experiential learning. Our clients participate in the Recreational Program one a week, off site.
